All of a sudden when you boot your Windows computer you may see X marks or some unusual marks on Windows icons. There is a way to fix this.

This is because Windows icons are corrupted. You need to delete icon cache and rebuild it.
You may do this ta your own risk:
1. Open Command prompt
Type the following at the prompt:
ie4uinit.exe -ClearIconCache
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
DEL “%localappdata%\IconCache.db” /A
DEL “%localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\iconcache*” /A
shutdown /r /f /t 00
The last command line would restart the computer.
